Steven Paul Jobs or Steve Jobs was born on 24 February 1955 in San Francisco, California and was adopted.

He is an American entrepreneur, inventor and is co-founder of Apple Inc.

Steve Jobs is listed as primary inventor and co-inventor of over 230 patents related to technologies from actual computer and portable devices to user interfaces, speakers, keyboards, power adapters, staircases, clasps, sleeves, lanyards and packages.

In the late 1970s, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Mike Markkula founded Apple and developed the Apple II computer.

In 1984 he resigned from Apple and founded NeXT, which was subsequently bought by Apple in 1996 for $429 million, which brought him back to the company.

In 1984 Steve Jobs was also awarded the National Medal of Technology from President Ronald Reagan.

Steve Jobs was credited in the 1995 movie Toy Story as the executive producer.

Steve Jobs previously served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios and was a member of the board of directors at The Walt Disney Company in 2006.

On August 24, 2011, Steve Jobs announced his resignation from his role as CEO of Apple. In his letter of resignation he recommended that Tim Cook be named as his successor.

Steve Jobs earned only $1 a year as CEO of Apple but holds 5.426 million Apple shares.
