The South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law has a membership of 289 intellectual property lawyers, practitioners and agents.
The South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law, which was established more than 50 years ago, in 1954, promotes and regulates various aspects of Intellectual Property in South Africa.
Most members of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law represent law firms, some academic institutes, and corporate law advisory companies. The institute is closely related to the SA Law Society better known as Law Society of SA.
With around 108 of its member being students in intellectual property law, it shows an increasing interest in this field. The institute is also involved in domain name dispute resolution and has been appointed in official capacity regarding dispute handling when it comes to .co.za domains.
