The United States Patent Office (USPTO) has launched the Trademark Assistance Center with the purpose of providing the public an easy to access information resource for finding help regarding trademark applications and registrations.
The Trademark Assistance Center is not intended as an extensive information resource, but rather the provision of general information about trademark registrations.
One can also lodge an enquiry regarding the status of a specific trademark application with them.
Located in Madison East, the Trademark Assistance Center can also be visited if one needs to speak to a consultant.
Their offices are open during the week from 8:30 to 17:00 Eastern Time. The Trademark Assistance Center is not open over weekends or public holidays. In addition the Trademark Assistance Center provides an additional resource, that of the Trademark Applications and Registrations Retrieval Database.
Known in short as TARR, the Trademark Applications and Registrations Retrieval Database is an online resource where one can obtain an update regarding the status of a trademark application by entering the trademark serial number.
The USPTO offers several assistance centres where one can obtain help regarding intellectual property registrations. One such an assistance centre in addition to the Trademark Assistance Center is the USPTO Contact Center which provides general support from Mondays to Fridays from 8:30 until 20:00 daily except on public holidays.
