The LESI Conference on Collaboration in Innovation with the focus on the roles and impact of emerging economies will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre from 11 to 14 April 2010. Various professionals from trademark attorneys and patent lawyers to academia, medical researchers, economists, and more have been invited to attend.
Trademark attorneys and other professionals will share their knowledge with workshop attendees.
Plenary sessions will be held during the mornings while the workshops will take place during the afternoons. High level information about hotly debated issues will be shared at the plenary sessions by experts in the particular fields.
As is the tradition the workshops will entail practical applications with experts sharing knowledge on particular topics.
Trademark attorneys and other experts on branding will for instance, lead a workshop about the power of naming and why strong brand and trademarks are so important for the success of companies.
Aspects such as the acceptability of a trademark in all cultures and languages and the need for meeting the qualifying requirements for the local market of the business will be dealt with.
Another topic that will be discussed in-depth at one of the workshops is the safeguarding of trade secrets in the chemicals industry which will include how to protect secrets through contracts with various parties including clients, employees, and consultants.
It will also shed the light on potential protocols and best practices to follow to this end within the chemicals industry.
